What have I been up to? Here's the latest stuff!
As the Coronavirus is affecting us all, please take care of yourselves and your loved ones and be safe! Wear a mask!!!
The last 10 months, fortunately, have been busy with commissions. As of August and September, I have three paintings currently in the works.
Dragon (8 x 4 foot canvas)
Wow. This one is unique. I have been commissioned to create a dragon on a large canvas with additional fun items to paint within the canvas that have meaning to the clients. How fun is that?! And it will include different items in a dragon's "loot" as well as a baby dragon somewhere. So fun and, as I am seeing, rather difficult to actually sketch out. Onward. Time for completion - optimistically, January.

Tails at Twilight Gala Fundraiser - 50th Anniversary
November 8, 2020
I donate artwork annually to the Animal Protection Society of Durham to the Silent Auction for the large fundraising event. This year, with the Covid-19 pandemic, the event will be held virtually. "Tails at Twilight - Beyond the Ballroom". Click on the fundraiser promotion to get more information about the organization and take part in a wonderful support for neglected, abused and animals in need, especially in this time of crisis.
My contribution is "Leo". A resin Rottweiler puppy mold painted in a design that reflects snow leopard pattern, only with all of the colors of the rainbow! The necklace is embellished with glass beads, rhinestones, silver and nickel (removable).
(9.5”H x 6.5”W x 7”L)
This year, the donation includes a special item! A custom-made mask (with insert pocket for a filter, hand washable with nose wire) with the image of “Tsunami”, a painting that was accepted into the “Contemporary Art Collectors” book, 2014 edition.
Along with the mask, I also created a ‘mask lanyard’ (like a lanyard for glasses) that hooks to the mask strings. Decorated with glass beads, gold, silver and nickel – you can be totally decked out in original artwork and not need earrings! As well as being able to take your mask with you easily as you go along your way. Protected by artwork – and glammed up as well. How fun is that?!
