Resin dog and cat statues customized in incredibly intricate designs, as well as paintings of dogs and cats, are now available for sale in a new, special pet boutique and bakery in Durham, North Carolina.

2019:

TAILS AT TWILIGHT GALA (November 23, 2019 - 6:00 pm)  Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club in Durham. The gala has become one of Durham’s signature charity events, combining an elegant evening with a worthwhile cause — helping homeless, abused and neglected pets throughout the community receive the care they need and to find loving homes.  Jewel donated a decked-out Labrador Retriever statue, "Puzzle Pieces", for the fundraiser.

BULL CITY CHALLENGE - Bull Art Exhibition Contest  (April 2 - May 31, 2019) - 1ST PLACE!!

Art exhibition featuring 'bull theme' artwork. The contest winners were determined by a public voting process. Awarded first place at the Artist Reception, Friday evening May 17th as part of the 'Third Friday Art Walk'.

The gala has become one of Durham’s signature charity events, combining an elegant evening with a worthwhile cause — helping abused and neglected pets throughout the community receive the care they need and to find loving homes.  Twelve years ago, Animal Protection Society of Durham held its very first Tails at Twilight gala to raise money for the care and feeding of the animals at the Durham County Shelter. Since then, APS of Durham has changed a great deal, implementing wonderful programs and practices to increase our community awareness about the humane treatment of animals. Jewel donated two statues for the fundraiser: Kuschel the Boxer and Katia the Cat.

2015:

"PETCASSO - 17TH ANNUAL COMPASSION WITH FASHION"  (Sunday, March 29) 

The Phoenician Resort & Spa - 6000 East Camelback Road, Scottsdale, AZ  85251

Join the Arizona Humane Society for the magical 17th Annual Compassion with Fashion:  "Once Upon a Tail" at the Phoenician Resort and Spa. More than 1,100 royal attendees will enjoy a fanciful seated luncheon feast, a silent auction and a fairy tale fashion show featuring AHS' charming adoptable pets.  Proceeds raised during "Compassion with Fashion" support the innovative programs and services that help AHS save the lives of thousands of homeless pets every single year.  Jewel was chosen out of 24 artists to create a painting design on metal sculptures of cats and dogs created by Misty Mulleneaux. The sculptures are a crucial piece of the gala and included in the silent auction. (Mine is a kitty I named "Kumari" )

The Sweet Arts Gala is the major fundraiser for the Durham Art Guild and as a result, are planning new programming and educational outreach opportunities.
